RACISM IN GLASGOW!!!

actually, im already out of mood to blog bout this...but...i still wana blog bout it la!!!!! if u wana taste our anger in a more exaggerated way, plz visit li ping's blog...hehe

on sat, we went shopping, n in the aftnoon, we were kinda hungry *i was dead hungry actually!*...so we decided to pop into 1 of the restaurants on the street...

lame name + sucky food + really bad service = discrimination!

we ordered "hot choc with marshmallows" n it came without the marshmallows!!!! bcuz...

"oh..we don't have marshmallows.."

bllaarrdddyyyyy hell......dun hav dono how to say ar...

cheat our 1.60 pounds...

n then i ordered toasted sandwich....hungry mind of mine was thinking of a THICK n filled with fresh vege sandwich... with bacon....

guess wat...they served a set of roti bakar with 2 slices of bacon....n......
NOTHING ELSE!!!!!

n when we left the restaurant, another customer who ordered the same thing as me had fresh vege on his plate!!

ok..enuf of all tht anger...

we made wanton last weekend...

as u can see...we hav skinny, voluptuous, n flat........wanton...hahHAHhaha..

as we hav extra egg after makin wanton, we decided to fry the egg...

i volunteered...n this is the result...

er...the pan was reli reli hot ok..bcuz our stove 'sot' adi...if not wun b so black 1 k....sob..

i fried my 1st vege....brocolli + carrot + salt + garlic + oyster sauce = sedap vege yang dimasak oleh shirlyn..haha....

*guided by ah mein jie...without her...i will b lost...* haha

tada.....dinner served..

an unexpected news

i came back from class n as usual...switched on my comp straight away..

was expecting to see jin aun on skype..but he wasnt...so i called him...

he sounded very serious n the background was very quiet when he picked up his hp...1st thing i asked him "where r u?"....n he told me tht he's in Malacca...his "ah ma" jus passed away...

i felt sad but did not know how to console him...he said he couldnt tell me wat happened so i didnt want to ask further....n i hung up...

i started cryin after tht....the idea of not seeing his "ah ma" again made me feel like i should have chat with her more each time i see her during CNY...

i felt sorry for his grandfather...n jin aun's family too..


eventho i only see "ah ma" once a year...during CNY...i felt close to her..mayb she alwaz made me feel like im part of their family...n im always welcome to visit their hse every CNY...

she gives me the impression that she's a very strong woman, yet loving and caring at heart...always with a smiley face and never fails to greet everyone who steps into her hse on the 2nd day of CNY...

a day when every relative gathers around...to celebrate CNY n also "ah ma's" n "ah gong's" bday...

nex CNY will definitely be different without her...



im also quite worried for jin aun as he has exams tmr morning...but he's in Malacca now...being a last minute guy, i bet tht he hasnt finish studying...but dun worry aun...ur "ah ma" will bless u im sure...so jus try ur best tmr...

i hope i can b by ur side now to console u over wat had jus happened...but tht is jus impossible... hope tht u n ur family will recover soon...

n a tribute to the Dumpling Festival...we had "tang yuan"..[er..scratches head...]

altho it's a so-not-related-to-dumpling-festival traditional dessert...it was mmMMmm...yummylicious!!!

this picture was taken at my apartment when there was a fire in the sterile lab!! yes...no kidding man....real FIRE!!!

it happened right in front of my eyes (not in the same room tho)....i saw the machine caught on fire itself...n luckily the lab assistant was quick enough to close all the gas tanks near tht lab...."kan cheong" nehh.....

n some of my batchmates had to wear this sterile suit in the lab....which they had to strip down to undergarments only then wear it...n it was freaking cold n windy tht day...

so now u kno why they're at my place???...hehe..i had my door key with me...

food we cooked...even more yummy!!

vege + lotus root + vege soup....we decided to go slightly vegetarian tht day...ngek ngek..

today...i went to MELA...it's some kind of festival which involves South Asian culture...

so there was lion dance!!! woohoo~~

n we had samosa + li ping's thali rice for lunch....2.50 pounds leh for 2 samosas...ouch!...


cartoonish balloons...li ping might fly high up into the sky if she holds all of them...hehe..

n lucky us *erm..or not so lucky after all* we got to witness an act in the uni...*werid act actually...with a weird name...sorry..i laz to go find out wat's it about..*


this 4 fellas were hunging on to a rope n walking like drunken masters..


n 1 of them carried a backbone-like thingie..


then a white-faced lady with rope came n save him from dono-wat...


n i actually saw some1 playing "gu zheng"....east+west culture??


lastly, the heroin + backbone guy got married...in a drunken way too..


in conclusion, a really weird act...but it probably has some historic story behind it...which im jus too lazy to go n find out wat izit...u can go check it out urself if u wan to...hehe..

the satay looked thicker than the ones we hav in msia....*u get wat u pay eh...*

6th day in glasgow n im SICK!!! down with dry cough, bit sore throat, bit fever n flu....haihz...how unfortunate...

but dun worry...i know how to take care of myself..n i have my hsemates to take care of me too...hehe...

yest, we went shopping at Sauchiehall Street n we came across a Celtic shop...



n this place here is called George Square...it's quite a big park...n the ang-mo's jus like to sit or lie down under the sun...whilst my hsemates n i were walking under the shade..tryin to avoid getting darker..hehe.



n near the park, there's this huge poster promoting Glasgow as a candidate city for Commonwealth Games 2014...still darn long more ler....


today, b4 we departed to the West End Festival, took a pic in the campus...this area is jus rite in front of our apartment u kno...hehe....seniors said when there's snow, we could slide down the slope with a garbage bag....i cant wait to try tht!!! haha..

we were hanging dry our laundry bcuz we have adi spin the clothes in the dryer for 40mins but they're still not dry yet...


after gathering everyone, we headed off to the subway n dropped off at Hillhead...

when we come back home, we had bak kut teh for dinner....our 1st home cooked meal...yummy!!! it's so nice to drink sthn warm when it's cold outside...ahhh...
